Delhi University’s prestigious Sri Venkateshwara College will take off a series of events including cultural, educational and others throughout the year from August 17th with the celebration of its Golden Jubilee. Considered as the most prestigious co-ed college of South Campus in Delhi University, Sri Venkateshwara College is completing its 50-year of establishment on August 17th. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations on the occasion.
The inauguration ceremony will also witness commemoration of special stamps related to the college. Meritorious students of the college too will be awarded during the function.
According to Hemlata Reddy, Principal of the College, the golden jubilee celebration is jointly being organized by Staff Association of the college and alumni association. Both the association and college administration have planned a series of events throughout the year in the college and other places.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy and noted scientist M.S. Swaminathan will grace the function on the occasion at Vigyan Bhavan in the capital.
