Noted Kathak exponent Sitara Devi, and musician Bhupen Hazarika among others will get prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi fellowship.

The President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil will confer the awards for 2008 at a special ceremony on 14 July 2009 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

The Akademi Fellowship (Akademi Ratna ) and Akademi Awards ( Akademi Puraskar ) are recognized as the highest national honour in the field of art and performing art.
