NCP-Congress alliance could not show magic this time as Shiv Sena-BJP alliance has emerged as the biggest combine today in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Elections (BMC) by winning 107 seats while NCP-Congress alliance has been limited to 65 seats. The results were announced on Friday.
Raj Thakre’s MNS has won 29 seats and others including RPI have grabbed 26 seats in the BMC elections. Though, BMC elections was a major concern for parties, believe in the democratic process, as Gen-X preferred to stay away from the polling and polling percentage was as low as 45 percent. The 227 seat BMC has highest budget of Rs. 21,000 crore.
