Wait for Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union (JNUSU) has become longer as the Supreme Court has adjourned hearing in this regard till July. The Supreme Court Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan heard the arguments of the JNUSU counsel Sanjay Parikh and Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium but did not pass any order. The JNUSU election was stayed by the Supreme Court after an application was filed by Gopal Subraminum 2007 that recommendations of Lyngdoh Committee were violated in JNU. There has been no student union election in JNU since 2008.
