Investigate IIT-JEE by SIT: IIT Prof.

Next hearing related to discrepancies in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) system for admission in IITs will be held in middle of May. Delhi High Court had issued notices to IITs and Ministry of HRD in this regard. The petitioner and Professor Rajiv Kumar of IIT, Kharagpur has sought direction from the court for investigation in the conduct of JEEs by an Special Investigation Team (SIT).

According the petition constitution of an expert committee of independent experts has also demanded for single examination system for entrance to engineering institutions and to frame guidelines for conducting such examinations in the country.

Apart from these direction for release of model answers alongwith solutions immediately after JEE, publication of status of vacant seats and filled-in seats on day to day basis during the admission counseling.
Petitioner has also sought directions regarding additional safeguards to prevent tampering of the optical response sheets and to make the system foolproof.
