Gen-X joins hand together today to throw their weight in the assembly elections in UP and increased the polling percentage considerably in the state in second phase of polling. According to the available preliminary data over 59% votes were polled in the second phase on 59 seats in the elections.

Kushinagar and Ghazipur were registered highest percentage of polling today. Over 1.10 crore voters participated in the elections today to decide the fate of 1098 candidates, contesting for elections.
According to an estimate over 30 percent voters belongs to the community of first time voters, exercised their democratic rights in the elections.

Election Commission had made elaborative arrangement for free and fair polls in the state. Over 20000 polling booths were set up for polling in the second phase. Elections were conducted in Nine districts of eastern UP including Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj and others.
