The release of first cut-off of Delhi University for admission in various undergraduate courses is proving a Herculean task for many colleges due to non co-operation of teachers, who have been opposing introduction of semester system at the undergraduate level for a long time. Several staff associations and even staff council of various colleges have dissociated from the admission process.
Even principals of various colleges including Rajdhani, Motilal, KMC and some other colleges have communicated to university administration their problem in this regard. Over 38 colleges have been facing such kind of opposition from the staff association. It is notable that first cut-off is scheduled to release on 22nd June. A meeting in this regard has been scheduled on 19th June.
Principals have though not coming out openly but admits that it is difficult to decide cut off without the help of teachers as teachers from almost all departments take part in the admission process to decide the cut-off and students’ counseling. “It is a matter of experience too as we change the cut-off by 0.5 % it will make a huge difference for the college”, says a Principal. Colleges are not happy with the decision of centralized sports trails too as they take it as an attempt to usurp the power of college by the university administration.
