DU Teachers to observe ‘Protest day’ on 11th Aug
Teachers of Delhi University will observe ‘Protest day’ on 11th August by wearing black badges. The DUTA Executive has appealed to all teachers to observe Wednesday as ‘Protest day’ after a meeting on Tuesday. According to DUTA the black badges protest is both against negative service conditionalities in the UGC Regulations and against the trampling of the University Act, Statutes, Ordinances, EC, AC, Faculties, Departments by the Vice-Chancellor.
Secularise Hindi says Vishnu Khare
The MA Hindi course being taught in our Universities is a Hindu Course. It has not been secularized. We need to hijack Mir, Ghalib , Umrao Jaan Ada into the Hindi curriculum and secularize it,“ said Vishnu Khare, well known poet, translator and critic. He was speaking at the 11th Friday Seminar Lecture series organized by the School of Gender and Development Studies, IGNOU. The topic of the lecture was, “The Daughters of Punna and Mutta: Contemporary Women Poets in Hindi”.
Membership drive for DUSU elections
After the announcement of schedule of DUSU elections the membership drive has become a buzzword among the students outfits. ABVP, SFI and AISA have intensified their campaign to increase their members in Delhi University. Though ABVP has been proactive in this regard as it started its efforts during the admission season but NSUI is following wait and watch policy.
