DU: No-ragging but full of masti on Day 1

It was a no-ragging day for the freshers of DU colleges, who joined today the college but full of masti and surprises. Due to strict vigil and wide publicity, ragging was not seen, at least openly, in the colleges but fachcha (freshers) enjoyed a lot as seniors left them surprised on many occasion.

“We had just been interacting with our friends in our classroom then suddenly two teachers like seniors came into classroom and told us to join the new period at auditorium. But when we reached there was no class. When we came outside those seniors were outside and smiling”, told a newcomer of Hindu College.

Freshers in Kirorimal College have different kind of experience when they went canteen. “It was like April fool like experience. We went there and ordered Cold Drinks. When we started drinking the bottle we were told suddenly that cockroaches have been found in the cold drink so do not drink the bottle”, said a Ist year student of Science course. But when we left drinking some of the seniors came and said that it was nothing but just an introduction. There were no cockroaches, he added.

However, strict vigil had been maintained in the colleges to stop ragging in the colleges in any form. CCTV , caretakers, staffs and teachers had been watching students inside the colleges while Police pickets were outside the campus to stop any such incidents.
