Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has discussed with Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor and requested him to provide more cadets during the Commonweath Games 2010. The telephonic conversation took place between both the dignitaries on Thursday evening. The Chief Minister also thanked the Chief of Army Staff for assurance for providing 5000 NCC cadets during the 2010 Games.

Though much detail could not be available but issue of not giving permission to Delhi for tableau during the Republic Day parade on 26th January was also raised, said a highly placed source. But according to sources this is third consecutive year when Delhi has not received any communication regarding participation in the parade of tableaux. The final decision in this regard is taken by a committee of Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister today visited NCC Republic Day Camp. She told NCC cadets to acquire excellence in all required field during their training and ready to face any challenge in their life.
