Conference on Remote Sensing at Jamia
Experts from various institutions, including the premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), will participate in a day-long conference Tuesday on ‘Remote Sensing and GIS for Environmental Management’ organised by the Jamia Millia Islamia University. The conference will cover new horizons in the areas of spatial technology for hydrology, water and air pollution, land degradation, land use planning and natural hazards, an official statement said.

Book donation camp at Jamia
Jamia Millia Islamia University in collaboration with the Youth Empowerment Services NGO is organising a book donation programme for distribution to the needy. The two-day programme will be held Aug 10-11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jamia campus. As part of the initiative, the student volunteers would set up three stalls at the main gates of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Jamia School.

Quit India movement at IGNOU
IGNOU’s Center for Freedom Struggle Studies, (IGCFSS ) today organized the Flag Hoisting ceremony to commemorate 68th Anniversary of Quit India Movement . The Flag was unfurled by Dr. Yoganand Shastri, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Justice Vijender Jain, Former Chief Justice and Shashi Bhushan, Chairman, IGCFSS and others.
A public meeting to observe Secular Day was organized at IGNOU campus by the Indira Gandhi Center for Freedom Struggle and Freedom Movement Memorial Committee. The speakers on this occasion saluted the unsung, unheard and unknown heroes of 1942, who laid down their lives for the freedom of our country.
