CHANDAN SHARMA
It’s my life! The ultimate dream of living own style of life is finally coming true for those students who are going to join their colleges leaving their disciplined, dress-code bound school life. It is a new life. Semester or without semester freshers of Delhi University, which is commonly known as fachchas (freshers + bachcha) among their seniors, will certainly inhale a completely new air.
Freedom from tough disciplines, make gossip with friends over a cup of tea, classes and leisure, library & discussion, metro and buses, everything will give a new and virgin experience for the students.
Those who have attended their orientation classes in their respective colleges like St. Stephen’s, Hindu, SRCC and some others today or earlier have got some glimpses of their dream life. Yes, it is a kind of dream life, that most students have been wanted to live. But there is a word of caution too – that is about reality. No, doubt it is your life but it has come with a responsibility to make your future with your own attempts.
In schools, life was different. Shaping your career or future was the responsibility of your teacher and parents. You had to just follow their instructions. But here, onus goes on you. If there is freedom there will be bigger chance to slip also. Keep those people away from you who can or try to divert your attention. No need to say ragging is banned everywhere in any form. But respect your seniors and teachers. Take their help in need. They will help you in difficulty. Enjoy, but with dignity. After all, It’s world of fachchas my dear! Best wishes for you and your life as the Sun is rising on new vista.
