President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil has given approval for the nomination of 39-year old cricket star Sachin Tendulkar for Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Parliament. Veteran actress Rakha and industrialist Anu Aga too have been recieved approval from the President for nomination of Rajya Sabha.

The approval was given after the nod of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for their nomination. These nominated members though can participate in the activities of the Upper House but will not have power to vote.

Electoral process has started in Delhi for Rajya Sabha. Delhi has three MPs seats for the upper house of the Parliament. Congress General Secretary and MP Janardan Dwivedi filed his nomination on Friday. The Election Commission has already issued notification in this regard.
