While former President APJ Abdul Kalam was discussing teacher-student relationship at St. Stephens College the teachers of Delhi University were either out of the college or on the street against the apathetic attitude of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Pental towards teachers and students.
These teachers were observing one -day strike against the Vice-Chancellor and later on they sat on Dharna in front of V-C office. These teachers were opposing semester system at the undergraduate level and demanding adequate infrastructure and manpower for implementation of the system in the university.
As a result both teachers and students were stayed away from most of the colleges. On the other hand dharna has attracted a large gathering in the university. Later on, the VC had to deferred the meeting of Executive Council of the university amid the strong protest. “It is a big success for us. Semester system can not be imposed without proper infrastructure and manpower” Aditya Narayan Mishra, President DUTA, told fachcha.com
‘Primary teacher is the most important for children after parents’
Former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam used to feed deer’s child by his own hand. The child was so small and incapable that it was unable to get milk from its mother. Witnessing this the former President Kalam started feeding it with bottle in the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s park. When he was leaving the Rashtrapati Bhavan the deer came to him and gave him the most emotional moment during his tenure at the highest office of the country. This was shared by former president Kalam during an interaction with the schoolgirls at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Defence Colony in Delhi today.
The former President stayed at the school for over two hours and discussed several issues with schoolgirls. Kalam told that primary teacher is the most important person after the parents who shape a man’s life. Other teachers just educate the man. He said that how his primary teacher told him about flying of a bird and it revolutionized his life. Later on he devoted his life to develop missile.
Replying to a question he said that the age of women empowerment has come and it will continue further. According to a senior officer of education department he had strictly told to the organisers to not make formalities like welcome address and other things. Accoding to Seema, a student of the school, it was an unbelievable moment for us. We were so exited to see him so close and talking to us that we could not mention it.
