JNU students today launched a massive protest march in the campus and also at Patiala House court where the accused of the Sunday incident were produced. The students were demanding immediate action against those accused.

Later on, in the evening they gathered in the campus in a meeting to discuss further course of action to stop such kind of incidents in the university. It is notable that JNU is though a closed campus university but the students and atmosphere of the institution is quite open. Some of the outsiders misunderstand the atmosphere and try to take undue advantage of it. The Sunday incident was one of the examples of it. But the frequency of such incidents has increased in recent time.

Though the rounds of students’ meeting continue no outline has been prepared for the further course of action. The students, especially girl students are demanding better security and fear-free environment in the campus.
