Results of Civil Services (Mains) Examination 2011 has been announced today. UPSC has recommended 910 candidates as qualified for various Civil Services including IAS, IPS & IFS and central services. Girls again bagged top two positions in the result. Four out of first 10 candidates are women in the result of India’s top administrative services. Shena Aggarwal, MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi and Rukmani Riar of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai have been declared first and second respectively in the merit list. The Union Service Public Commission (UPSC) has recommended 87 candidates from Civil Services Examination, 2008. The results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2008 was declared vide Press Note dated 4th May, 2009 recommending 791 candidates in order of merit for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group “A” and Group “B”. DU students to sit on relay hunger strike
Students of Delhi University will sit on indefinite relay hunger strike in protest of eviction from DU hostels on the name of Commonwealth Games. The students, mainly comprises of the hostel residents of various DU hostels formed a group University Community for Democracy, to lodge their protest against the decision of eviction. The relay hunger strike will start on Thursday 9.00 a.m. and will continue indefinitely, says Praveen Verma of the group. These students have also launched a massive campaign through mails, facebook, twitter and other social networking sites to gather support for their cause.

IAS topper interact with Jamia students
Shah Faisal, a Civil Services topper today interacted with the students of Jamia Millia Islamia and gave a first hand account of his success. The interactive session was organised by the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning of the university.

DU: teachers observe protest day
Teacher of Delhi University today organized ‘Protest day’ under the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) against UGC’s regulations regarding service conditions and Delhi University Vice-Chancellor’s way of working. A large number of teachers though attended teaching classes but wore black badges on their arm in support of teachers’ cause.

Anti-ragging campaign launched
An anti-ragging campaign was launched in Delhi University (DU) on Wednesday.The campaign titled ‘Bus Aur Nahin’ launched to give massage to the students of the country and to stop them from any act of ragging. The special, colourful bus will travel from Delhi to Chennai covering nine major cities.

Medical graduate Dr. Shah Faesal from Srinagar has emerged as topper of Civil Services Examination 2009. Second highest rank has gone to an engineering graduate Prakash Rajpurohit. Prakash has done B. Tech (Electrical Engg.) from IIT Delhi.

The result of the Civil Services Examination 2009, announced today by Union Public Service Commission, has shown women power among the top rankers in the India’s most prestigious government services’ examination. 10 women have made their place out of top 25 rank in the examination. Iva Sahay, a Geography student from JNU and research scholar from Allahabad University has emerged as topper among women bagging third position in the merit list. Though, only 195 female candidates have made their seat for the various civil services out of total 875 selected candidates.
