A statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been unveiled at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, as a symbol of Australia’s close relations with the Indian community.

The thought and works of Mahata Gandhi will reach to the people 101 countries through exhibition. The exhibition of 78 paintings and photographs has already been started at Rajghat on Monday. The paintings and photographs have been made on the basis of works of Mahatma from his childhood to his death. These include nursing his parents to participation in Satyagrah in South Africa and India.
Most of the paintings and photographs are based on the puppets of Gandhi situated in the various parts of Mumbai and Maharashtra, says Sakhamitr Ashwini, one of the organizers of the exhibition. He says that it took almost two years to take such snaps, make paintings and other related work. A book has also been prepared in this regard.
