While the preparations to provide best infrastructure and facilities for Commonwealth Games 2010 are on, Delhi is tacitly preparing its school children to send them in 2010 Games. These students belong to different schools and taking tough training to ensure their presence in the international games.
“There are 74 students from the government schools of Delhi. We have selected them for their participation in the 2010 Games”, Delhi’s Sports Minister Arvinder Singh told fachcha.com.
“This is the biggest sports event in Delhi in last three decade and we are ensuring that Delhi’s players get maximum number of medals in the games”, he adds. These students are being trained in different streams. “We are concentrating on Wrestling, Athletics, Swimming, Shooting and Tennis. There are some players for Hockey too. The government is providing tough training to ensure their seat at the national level so that they could participate in the games and bring medals for nation”, Arvinder Singh said.
According to him Delhi has been best performers in the National Schools Games for last three years too. Delhi’s boy will continue their performance in the Commonwealth Games too.
