After concerns raised over the security arrangements by the Commonwealth games Federation Chairman Mike Fennel during his recent visit in Indian capital the a post of Special Commissioner has been created for 2010 games.

Ajay Chadha (AGMU-1977) DGP, Arunachal Pradesh is transferred and posted as Special Commissioner of Police Common Wealth Games-2010. The order has been issued in this regard by the Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna today. Fennel paid a visit to Indian capital on 21st July and raised the issue of security arrangements for 2010 games. Though he was satisfied by the progress for the games preperations he asked that what arrangements are there for the safety of international players. After this a special post has been created for the security of 2010 games.

Several other transfers has been made by the Lt. Governor in the police department. M S Upadhaye (AGMU-1987) posted in the Office of Home Guard and Civil Defence is transferred as Joint CP, Riot Cell whereas Joint CP, Riot Cell S. Vasudeo Rao (AGMU-1986) is transferred as Joint CP, Home Guard and Civil Defence.

DCP / HQ (PHQ) H.M. Meena (DANIPS-85) is transferred as DCP, Rashtrapati Bhawan whereas DCP, Rashtrapati Bhawan, S.B.S. Tyagi (AGMU-2000) is transferred to Andaman & Nicobar Island. ACP, Patel Nagar (Central District) Mangesh Kashyap is transferred as Additional DCP, Headquarters.
