After proper representation of women in local bodies and other fields it now turn of NCC. Ratio of girls will be increased in the NCC upto 33%. “Ministry of Defence has approved a proposal to increase girls’ ratio upto 33% from existing 23%.

According to Lt. Gen R K Karwal, Director General of NCC, the government has also approved a plan to increase strength of NCC cadets by 15 percent. There are 13 lakh NCC cadets at present. The approval has been given to increase the number upto 15 lakh. Interacting with media on Tuesday he said Delhi Directorate will start a campaign for Yamuna Pollution Awareness with the help of these cadets. He said that 5000 NCC cadets will help to organize the Commonwealth Games in Delhi this year.
It is notable that about 40000 volunteers are needed to organize the 2010 Games. The Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee has already started campaign to recruit volunteers.
