New HRD boss for regulation for foreign institutions
The new Manmohan Singh government will take forward the Foreign Educational Institutions (FEI) Bill to regulate foreign universities and institutions in the country. The new Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal, has said today while taking charge of the office. He also indicated changes in the IITs and IIMs in the near future.
The (FEI) bill is pending in the parliament for the approval. Several educational institutions and Association of Indian Universities (AIU) have been demanding to regulate foreign institutions in the country for the betterment of the educational institutions and Indian educational community. According to Sibal the ministry is linked to the youth, children and families and it needs to be seen how it can take India forward
