Mandatory BCI exam in December

Filed Under (Career, Delhi, Institutions, Law, Lead/Featured Story) by on 02-06-2010 and tagged ,

The mandatory examination to start practice for law will be conducted in December. The examination, named as All India Bar Examination, will be conducted in nine languages. This was stated by Gopal Subramaniam, Chairman of Bar Council of India and Solicitor General during a function of Bar Council of India in New Delhi.
He said that the examination will serve as a benchmark test to ensure a basic level of skills and knowledge to those joining the legal profession and those who intend to practice law in India. He also said that BCI will provide preparatory material for advocates in this regard.
It is notable that the government had already announced reforms in the legal education in India. The mandatory exam is an important part of it.
