Dengue: New concern for Commonwealth countries

Considering rising cases of dengue at least 24 Commonwealth countries have made inquiries about the status of dengue in the capital. The issue has been discussed in a high level meeting of Delhi government recently. The meeting attended by representatives of civic agencies and Medical Superintendents of the city hospitals. The countries, inquired about dengue, include Australia, Britain and others.

So far, more than 1400 cases of dengue have been reported in the city. Meanwhile, the some of the team members of the Indian cycling team for CWG have been affected by the mosquito menace. 18 members of 27-member Indian cycling team are ill, says a local media. Five members have been affected by dengue while others are down due to viral fever, flu and other diseases, Amar Ujala, a Hindi daily has reported.
