It seems that the admission reforms has first brought metamorphosis in the process of distribution of the admission forms of the colleges. Thanks to the tacit support (& guidelines) of the Ministry of HRD and IT & Communication, colleges will be stayed away from the admission process starting from 4th June 2012, at least from the distribution of the admission forms. The offline forms for admission in various undergraduate courses will be made available to the 12 post offices in the city. A decision in this regard has been cleared by the standing committee regarding admission.
Though online mode for application will also be open for the students but offline forms can be obtained only through the post offices. Admission process for SC/ST students will be centralised, as announced by J M Khurana, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Delhi University.

Leave everything on the God! This is the best mantra; at least, for some of the booze lover pilots. These pilots do not even think about risk and danger of posing on the life of hundreds of passengers during their air travel and get themselves ‘tally’ (drunk) during their flights. As many as 54 such booze-lover pilots have been detected in last three years.

According to the Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh 17 such drunk pilots were detected in 2011 while its number was 23 in 2010 and 17 in 2009 during the detection tests. The Civil Aviation Minister did not gave details about the flights in the reply given in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

“Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has amended Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 5, Series ‘F’, Part III dated 30th November, 2010 which provides for suspension of license for three months for first time and for five years in case a pilot is detected positive during pre-flight medical examination for the second time. This regulation requires airlines to conduct the test before all domestic flights and after every 15 days at foreign airports. This shall be supplemented by post medical flight checkup”, he says in the reply.

chandan.sharma@fachcha.com
My sleepy eyes suddenly stuck on a beautiful painting in the morning and they stopped scaning of the news items as they encountered with an ‘artefact’ appeared in a ‘national daily’ today. The ‘artefact’ was actually an advertisement of multinational power giant GE and designed by one of the reputed international advertising agencies BBDO. It would have been wonderful ‘Madhubani Painting’ if some of the text or copy and logo, inserted into the advertisement, removed.
Needless to say, that I am neither a creative or commercial artist nor a copywriter. My aesthetic sense is as bad as a layman except that I recieved some district level children award during my school time in early nineties at ‘Bal Bharti School’ in my small town of ‘Munger’ and some District Publicity or Field Publicity Officer handed over me a book ‘Pita ke ptra putri ke naam’ (A collection of letters, communicated between first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi). There were some interesting and detailed communications through letters among leaders of the country in the bulky book. But it is not the right place to discuss details of the book.
But what amazed me as a communicator, at least I can claim it on the basis of whatever little degree or diploma or better say piece of papers I have earned through our education system, that the creative director of an ad agency and top executives of the MNC could easily understand the power of communication of a traditional form of art, emerged from the soil of Bihar and also its commercial value too, sitting inside the AC boardroom in Delhi or Mumbai. I used to ask my friends about the cultural heritage of Bihar. Thanks to Bihar’s Centenary Celebrations, which brough out some of the latent talents and cultures of Bihar. It is another fact that I am still trying to find out that any original dance form of the state, that Bihar could claim its own.
But as far as Madhubani Paintings are concerned, certainly it is a great contribution of the Bihar to the cultural heritage of India. But the apex body of art in India, Lalit Kala Akademy, is in the mood of negating the contribution. In a interaction with some of the artists and people associated with the Akademy, it came out that Akademi is in no mood to organize its annual exhibition in Patna, capital of Bihar, despite a clear decision taken by the General Council, the supreme body of the Akademy, meeting on 19th December 2011. In fact, its executive board, constituted by General Council, is now putting all effort to shift its venue from Patna somewhere else.
It is interesting fact that the decision to organize national exhibition was taken by the council on the basis of the request, made by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in this regard. Ashok Vajpai, the then Chairman took inititive in this regard and General Council discussed the matter and took decision. But as the new regime started in the Akademi the decisions or recommendations of the Council started biting dust. May be, they do not believe in the process of democratic decision or they do not trust on cultural heritage of a developing state. After all, Ye Jo Dilli Hai…

Delhi is preparing to give tough fight to neighbouting techology hubs like Noida and Gurgoan in the field of Information Technology. Releasing report on “Estimates of State Domestic Product 2011-12” of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that city is developing as a major centre of service sector including IT to leave behind neighbouring cities like NOIDA and Gurgaon. She said that it would create large number of employment opportunities in Delhi.
According to the report the per capita income of the city has reached to Rs 1.76 lakh per annum, second highest in the country and next to the Goa. Delhi has dominance of the service sector (82%). Real estate, financial services have robust share in it with 39% followed by trade hotels and restaurant with 19%.

Dikshit added that the share of service sector in GSDP in Delhi about 82% followed by secondary sector at 17% and primary sector at 0.87%. This establishes effect of our Industrial Policy which promotes non-polluting industries.
