The representation of girls in the technical courses have been a big concern of the policy makers for a long time but the percentage of qualified girls in the IIT-JEE is far away from that of the boys in 2012.<span id="more-5620"></span> Less than two percent women applicants have qualified in the JEE this year while the percentage of the qualified boys applicants in the JEE 2012 is over 7.5 percent almost four times of the girls.<br />
The result of JEE 2012 has been announced today. A total of 24,112 candidates have been secured ranks for over 9600 seats available in IITs throughout the country. Over 4.79 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations, including 1.50 lakh girl candidates. Over 2886 women candidates have secured ranks in the examination.<br />
Arpit Agarwal from MVN School, Faridabad has bagged top position in the examination. Bijoy Singh Kochar of Chandigarh and Nishant N Kaushik of Bhilai have been declared second and third respectively in the merit list. </p>

Over 1.47 lakh candidates have cleared Teachers Eligibility Test (<a href="http://fachcha.com/tag/hrd" target="_blank">TET)</a> in <a href="http://fachcha.com" target="_blank">Bihar</a>. The results have been announced by the Bihar School Examination Board.<span id="more-5609"></span> Over 26 lakh candidates appeared in the examination for the TET, a must for the appointment of teacers in the schools as per new guidelines.<br />
However, according to the state government the OMR seats of 4000 candidates have been lost. A re-examination will be organised for those candidates. Officials say that it was one of the mega examination in the country, participated by such a large number of candidates.<br />
Meanwhile, the state government has announced that the recruitment process for teachers will start soon in the coming next three to four months. The TET was organised in December 2011 and January 2012. Results can be seen at <a href="http://www.biharboard.net" target="_blank">www.biharboard.net. </a> </p>

St. Stephen’s  College of Delhi University will start its online admission process from 21st  May.<span id="more-5607"></span> The applicants will have to pay application fee of  Rs. 50/- per course alongwith the application. The college offers honours courses in Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, English, Zoology, Philosophy, Sanskrit and other subjects apart from BA (Gen.) and BSc(Gen.). Details of the courses and admission process, reservation etc. can be seen at college’s website. Process of offline application will start from 4th June 2012.</p>
<p>It is notable that St. Stephen’s does not follow the admission process or schedule of Delhi  University. Being a minority institution the college follow its own set of rules for admission and reservation. </p>

Results of Civil Services  (Mains) Examination 2011 has been announced today. UPSC has recommended 910 candidates as qualified for various Civil Services including IAS, IPS &amp; IFS and central services. Girls again bagged top two positions in the result. Four out of first 10 candidates are women in the result of India’s top administrative services. Shena Aggarwal, MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi and Rukmani Riar of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai have been declared first and second respectively in the merit list.<span id="more-5551"></span><br />
      Prince Dhawan, M. Tech,  from IIT, Delhi has bagged third position in the examination. The result include 195 girls in the list. </p>

Rural area of UT <a href="http://fachcha.com/delhi" target="_blank">Chandigarh</a> is facing acute level of unemployment while urban area of Tripura is the second highest in terms of the unemployment in the <a href="http://fachcha.com/career" target="_blank">country</a>. The unemployment rate in the Chandigarh is 24.7% <span id="more-5576"></span> in the rural area while rate of urban unemployment is 3.4% in  the area, according to an official survey. This is despite the fact that Chandigarh is a union territory (UT) and capital of two states Punjab and Haryana.<br />
The survey has been conducted by the NSSO and its findings have been presented in the Parliament. Acoording to the survey the rate unemployment in the country was 1.6% and 3.4% respectively in 2009-10. While 9.2 % and 17.1% unemployement have been recorded in the rural and urban areas respectively in Tripura, 10.2% and 9.6% unemployment have been registered in Nagaland, another NE state. However, Sikkim is the only state where zero unemployment rate has been registered in the urban area.<br />
As far as states like Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, UP, Bihar, Haryana are concerned these states have shown a better situation as far as unemployment is concerned.  </p>

Candidates should contact UPSC for more detail. </p>
<p>The results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2010 were declared last year on 11.05.2011 recommending 920 candidates in order of merit for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ against 1043 vacancies.</p>

Government has made it clear that there is no plan to increase number of attempts for candidates appearing in the Civil Services Examination conducted by <a href="http://fachcha.com/tag/upsc" target="_blank">UPSC</a>.<span id="more-5544"></span> Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and PMO V. Narayanasamy informed Lok Sabha. </p>
<p> In a written reply he also said that there is no proposal to introduce changes in the Main Examination of the Civil Services Examination, at present. However, he said that Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has appointed a committee of experts, headed by Prof. Arun S. Nigavekar, Ex. Chairman, <a href="http://fachcha.com/tag/ugc" target="_blank">UGC</a>, to review the existing structure of Civil Services (Main) examination and suggest necessary changes in Civil Services Examination. </p>
<p>It is notable that at present, three attempts are allowed for general category candidates for the examination. </p>
