Delhi’s Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna today termed the students of Art as the best mind and genius of the student community. Inaugurating the biggest exhibition of students’ art and painting at College of Art in New Delhi the Lt. Governor appealed students to start journey toward harmony from the disharmonious world though their art and paintings.

Addressing the students and guests Vijay Mohan, Principal, College of Art told about the journey of College from a small department to an institution of international repute. He said that over 2000 art and paintings have been shown in the exhibition. The exhibition will remain open till 19th March.

International festival of Yoga, Culture and Spirituality will be organized at Dev Sanskriti Vishvvidyalay, amid the ongoing season of Mahakumbh. The festival will be organized from 8th March to 13th March. The six-day festival will witness several religious and spiritual leaders during at the Kumbhnagari Haridwar. These include Sri Sri Ravishankar, Swami Satyamitranand of Bhartmata Mandir, Swami Mangaltirth and several other scientists and Yoga Gurus. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Ramesh Pokhariyal, Nishank too will participate in the festival.

Interacting with media today at university campus at Haridwar, Dr. Pranab Pandya, Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishvidyalaya said that the festival will throw light on the scientific aspect and importance of Yoga, Indian culture and spirituality. This will also an occasion to learn about Indian contribution of scientific culture and spirituality to the world humanity. Madan Kaushik, Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand was also present on the occasion. He said that the state government would provide all kind of help in this regard. The festival is being organized jointly by Dev Sanskriti Vishvvidyalaya and Uttarakhand government.

The biggest annual art exhibition of students will take off on 11th March at College of Art. Over 2000 paintings, sculptures, models and other creations will be exhibited during the 9-day exhibition. Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna will inaugurate the exhibition at Delhi College of Art.

This is an annual feature of the college and all the students of the college participate in the exhibition, Prof. Vijayamohan, Principal, College of Art told fachcha.com. The exhibition helps to develop talent among students and also provide a platform for students for interaction between students and art lovers in the capital. This is 57 th Annual Art Exhibition of College of Art.

While the country and entire Bollywood music industry is celebrating the achievement of A R Rahman and his prestigious Grammy Awards another Grammy Award winner Indian Viswa Mohan Bhatt celebrated it in Delhi in a different style. He performed his Mohan Veena at the auditorium of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). His classical presentation started at IIMC started in the evening with his Mohan Veena and mesmerized audience.
Mohan Veena, a kind of slide guitar, is his innovation. With his efforts he has made it a part of Indian classical music. He had won the Grammy Award in 1994.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has bagged Best Actress Award for 2008 for her role in the movie ‘Fashion’. The 56th National Film Awards for the year 2008 were announced today. Noted playback singer Hariharan and Shreya Ghoshal have bagged Best Playback Singer Awards in male and female categories respectively.
The Best Actor Award will be given to Upendra Limaye for his role in Marathi film Jogva.
