Black marketing of Kerosene a big concern: Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit admitted that black marketing of the Kerosene oil is common in the city and raised concerns over it.
“Time has come to request the centre to reduce the allocation of Kerosene oil as large part of the city does not use it and it is used for black marketing”, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said while addressing the annual conference of officers of Delhi Government on Tuesday. Referring recent survey of Delhi, she said that we (Delhi government) should request to increase supply of LPG as over 92% houses in the city use LPG cylinders instead of kerosene oil.
Dikshit plainly admitted that there are few shortcomings in our Public Distribution System (PDS). We will have to take corrective steps in order to cater to the needs of food requirement of the people, she added. She stated that the city government is waiting for food security bill to be finalized by the Union government.
The Chief Minister also promised to make Delhi a slum-free city in the next three years as her government will leave no stone unturned in making Delhi the cleanest city in the country. “I have been touring other states, I can state on the basis of the feed back received from the people that Delhi is really and truly far ahead of all other states”, she said. She also released a report of the various departments of the city government on the occasion.
