‘Shera Mera Dost’ launched at Sanskriti School

“Shera Mera Dost”-Commonwealth in Education Program for school children today launched in a function organized at Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

On the occasion Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that nothing is complete without involvement of youth and school children. The program “Shera Mera Dost” has been prepared with an aim to educate school children about the Games and their responsibilities to generate
an atmosphere conducive to the success of the Games. Five Mantras are Come out to Watch, Come out to Play, Come out to Smile, Come out to Enjoy and Come out to Welcome.

Principal Secretary (Art & Culture) Reena Ray exhorted the students to
make the Games a successful event.

Abha Sehgal, Principal, Sanskriti School said that we Indians can face any odds and we will be able to make the Games a memorable event. A cultural program was also presented by
the school children on the occasion.

Conceptualize by school principals the program is meant for all schools in Delhi to involve positive energy for grand success of CW Games. The function was jointly organized by the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Delhi, Organizing Committee (CWG) and Sanskriti
School.

In Delhi, the “Shera Mera Dost” programme aims at influencing the youth to become model citizens of the State and ambassadors of the Games. This change will be effected through a calendar full of fun contests and activities at the school level.

shera mera hi dost nahi hum sabka dost
is dosti ko salaam
thanx mrs.dixit &mrs.ray
with this programme we all are going to come
together and cheer for CWG2010.
india celebrates this spirit
