No organisation eligible for Communal Harmony Awards

National Communal Harmony Awards will not be given to any organization this year.Jury of the awards did not find any organization suitable for the awards 2011. The Jury is headed by Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India.
However, Khamliana from Mizoram and Md. Abdul Bari of Odisha have been announced joint winners of National Communal Harmony Awards in individual category for year 2011. Khamliana (56), Founder President of Mizoram Youth Club and Md. Abdul Bari (72), a social worker have been involved in various programme related to the national integration and communal harmony.
The awards were instituted in 1996 by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), an autonomous organization for promoting communal harmony and national integration. The award carries a cash award of Rupees two lakh for the individual and rupees five lakh for the organization category.
